Cool Boiler In Bathroom Zones Ideas. Zone 0 is quite basically, anywhere inside a bath, basin or shower itself. It turned out to be right above the bath in zone 1.

Zone 1 is the area above the bath to a height of 2.25m from the floor. Zone 3 is the area where it is safe to install your boiler. In order for the cupboard to effectively limit the extend of zones 1 & 2 two requirements must be satisfied.

While instructions on eg lights for bathrooms seem to stop zone 1 (over bath) and zone 2 (near bath) at 2.25m high, as do the diagrams with the regulations (i think). I just don't believe that is the case. Zone 2 for a bathroom is the same height as zone 1 (2.25m) extended to 0.6m around the bath.

In this zone ip rating of at least ip44 is required. If it's completely boxed in past the end of the bath and is only accessible via use of a tool to open the cupboard then it is ok and considered outside the zones. If your bathroom is small, you may not be able to adhere to the zone guidelines.

Zone 2 stretches to a 0.6m outside your bath or shower and above your bath or shower if over 2.25m. Thanks i was looking at putting an ideal independent in my bathroom but i think these have to be beyond zone two, so over 0.6 meters from the bath. If you were to install a heated towel rail in this zone, it would need a rating no lower than ipx4.
